This evaluation of the Pan-London Substance Misuse and In-patient Detoxification and Stabilisation Unit and Intermediate Rehabilitation Beds for people who are homeless, was commissioned from Pathway by the Pan London Substance Misuse Programme and led by Pathway Senior Clinical Fellow Dr Caroline Shulman.
The evaluation sought to understand service user experience and outcomes, alongside the views of frontline homelessness practitioners, substance misuse practitioners and commissioners of this relatively new service. With a view to quality improvement, it highlights what works well, as well as gaps to access and follow on care and support. It also makes a series of recommendations to improve access to and provision of these vital services across London.
