Ellie joined the team in 2022 as Pathway’s Business Development Manager. She leads our income and fundraising strategy and coordinates our corporate partnerships programme.

Prior to Pathway, Ellie was a Social Innovation Fellow at Year Here, where she trained in service design, social enterprise, and impact. During this time, she joined Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity and led a review of a fund for patients experiencing financial hardship in hospital. She has worked in strategy and service delivery since 2020 for both nationwide and local organisations including The National Lottery Community Fund, Refugee Council, and the Harrow-based charity, Ignite Youth.

Ellie has a PhD in Microbiology from the University of London and previously worked as a Postdoc in the Division of Infectious Disease at the University of California, San Francisco. While living in San Francisco, Ellie engaged in campaigning and community action, volunteering in harm reduction outreach with community heavy hitters GLIDE and St Anthony’s Foundation. After realising she preferred the company of a whole human being to cells in a dish, she decided to make her transition to the social sector. She continues to enjoy forming new relationships and volunteers as a befriender with Age UK.
