Chris studied medicine at the Royal Free Hospital medical school, where he qualified in 1989, completing GP training in 1992. Chris worked first as a GP in London before moving to Brighton in 1998 to be first GP at a new surgery specifically for people who were experiencing homelessness, now run by ARCH Health CIC, of which Chris is the Director. 

Chris has been the GP in the Brighton Pathway team since 2012, and believes the approach makes a massive difference to the care and discharge of their patients. Chris has worked with Pathway nationally since 2012, supporting on needs assessments, team development, and educational initiatives, such as the Inclusion Health CPD events. 

Chris is the clinical lead for the Pathway Partnership Programme, and a Pathway Fellow.
