Description

Homeless medical respite services provide ‘step up’ and ‘step down’ bedspaces for homeless patients requiring additional care, potentially reducing bed days and decreasing the risk of readmission. This scoping paper reviews a number of models of respite care currently in operation across England, considers their relative merits and recounts views of service providers and formerly homeless people (Experts by Experience) in the provision of respite care. An accompanying Executive Summary offering the paper’s headline findings can be downloaded here.
