During the last three months Pathway’s service user research worker Stan Burridge brought together a group of eleven people with extensive lived experience of homelessness.  They were each invited to participate in the Faculty for Homeless and Inclusion Health’s 2nd International Symposium held in London on 5th and 6th March. In the run up to the conference some members of the group worked with radio producer Paul Waters, they practised interview techniques and during the Symposium they interviewed some of the keynote speakers, other conference delegates and recorded their own reactions.  This work led to the recordings used on Saturday Live this morning.  We will be publishing a fuller edited series of their  audio diaries from the event shortly.  Their presence through the two days of the Symposium, and their powerful personal testimonies, reminded us all of the realities of life on the street.  One of the group afterwards described how moved he had been to see more than 200 healthcare professionals come together to think about how to provide better care for homeless people.

Each member of the group also produced their own short biographical profile and these are published here.

An archive of the Symposium including recordings of all plenary sessions and all speaker presentation materials is available via the Policy Review TV web site.  https://www.policyreview.tv/conference/947-homelessness-social-exclusion-
